We've had a super busy last few days. Here's the rundown.
Allison spent Tuesday through Friday last week driving to our new apartment in San Francisco each morning, and working all day to unpack. She drove out at night, picked me up from work, and we slept in our corporate apartment in San Jose. On Friday, I took the shuttle from work back to San Francisco. We slept in the new place on Friday night.
We spent most of the day Saturday just unpacking and putting things away. While we were hanging our clothes up in the closet, we came across some things we decided to donate to charity. And as it turns out, there is a Goodwill store on Haight Street, a few blocks away. We hauled two garbage bags full of clothes up there and dropped them off. On the way back, we stopped for lunch at a little hole in the wall burrito place, Zona Rosa. The burritos were excellent, though they were too large for any mere mortal to consume in one sitting. Saturday night we caught a showing of The Big Lebowski at the Red Vic, a cool little artsy theater a few blocks from our new place.
Sunday was our big IKEA adventure day. We got a Zipcar in the morning and drove across the Bay Bridge to the closest IKEA. We got curtains for the bedrooms, a kitchen cart for our microwave, some shelves for the living room, and a couple storage containers that fit under the bed. Definitely a productive trip.
Later in the evening we got another Zipcar (wow, they are convenient) to take Allison to the airport. She took the red eye out and is back in Virginia now. I have a few unpacking things to keep me busy until she gets back. :)
